SITA World Tours, in association with the Association for the Promotion of Tourism to Africa (APTA), Kenya Airways and Air Botswana hosted a travel agent seminar on April 20 that informed agents about selling travel to Africa. The dinner and presentation was held at the DuPage Club in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, with 60 preferred agents in attendance. Kenya Airways also provided roundtrip airfare for two from London to Nairobi as the evening’s door prize.
Bradley Brennan, business development manager for SITA, led the presentation, which included an in-depth overview of travel to Kenya and Botswana.
“We’re seeing great interest in our Africa tours and we want to make sure agents are aware of the scope of options in Africa as well as the diversity of products we offer in budget, mid-range and luxury African tours,” said Brennan. “We are very excited about opening new areas and itineraries to our clients including the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana. Brennan also offered agents insights into other aspects of Africa travel. The presentation was designed to answer agents’ most frequently asked questions, with information that covered such topics as climate, geography, history and the cultures of indigenous people. Brennan showcased the highlights as well as all the basic need-to-know travel information, such as entry requirements, what to pack and health precautions.
