Southwest Airlines reports the launch of a nationwide sale with holiday air fares starting as low as $79 one-way to select destinations. The fares are available for purchase only at southwest.com and swabiz.com through Nov. 1, 2012, 11:59 pm PT.
The fares are available for travel between Nov. 16 and Nov. 28, 2012, as well as Dec. 13, 2012 through Jan. 2, 2013 but blackout dates apply. Markets and prices are shown at www. southwest.com or swabiz.com.
Examples of fares cited by Southwest include:
• $79 one-way between Akron-Canton and Chicago Midway
• $79 one-way between Las Vegas and Los Angeles (LAX)
• $109 one-way between Kansas City and New Orleans
• $119 one-way between Atlanta and Houston Hobby
AirTran Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest has also lowered its fares.
