The Travel Corporation, owner of Trafalgar Tours, has signed an agreement to purchase Brendan Worldwide Vacations. Reasons for the sale were not immediately available, although Brendan says that it will continue to operate, after the sale, as an independent "stand alone company." "We believe the change of ownership is good for both parties, the Murphy family and The Travel Corporation, as well as the travel agency community," says Jimmy Murphy of Brendan Worldwide Vacations. "Aligning the Brendan brand with The Travel Corporation provides beneficial synergies we are continuing to identify daily." Trafalgar head John Severini, out of the office on Thursday, declined to comment on the deal through his assistant. The Travel Corporation adds Brendan to an already impressive array of brands, which includes Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Uniworld Grand River Cruises, Contiki Holidays, Red Carnation Hotels, AAT Kings, and African Travel.
