Viking Tours Adds Alps, Amazon Programs

Viking Tours, the land operation of Viking Cruises that launched at Vacation.com's annual conference in New Orleans last June, has added two itineraries to its repertoire. The 13-day "Italian Lakes & Swiss Alps" program visits Milan, Lake Garda, Verona, Lake Lugano, Lake Como, Zermatt, Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta. Accommodations include Lake Lugano's Hotel Splendide Royal and Zermatt's Hotel National. Six departures are scheduled in September and October with all-inclusive prices starting at $6,675.

"The Amazon Cruise & South America" is a new 14-day Viking program covering Iguazu Falls and Rio de Janeiro. Accommodations include suites at Copacabana Hotel and balcony staterooms aboard the five-star Iberostar Grand Amazon. Nine departures are scheduled beginning in September, with all-inclusive prices starting at $5,625.

Viking rates include all meals, guided tours, excursions and entry fees. Guests who pay in full by February 28 will save $500 per couple, or $250 per person. Viking Tours now offers 12 itineraries throughout Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Europe and South America. Agents can earn commissions of 12 percent of the brochure price for tour packages, 5 percent on full-price air travel and 10 percent on Viking's Travel Protection Plan.
