Air France to Fly to Cape Town

Beginning Nov. 3, Air France will fly nonstop to Cape Town, South Africa, from Paris-Charles de Gaulle three times per week. The new flights will be operated by a Boeing 777-200 with a total capacity of 309 seats, equipped with 35 seats in the business cabin, 24 seats in the Premium Voyageur cabin and 250 seats in the Voyageur (economy) cabin.

The new service follows the airline’s introduction of A380 service on its Johannesburg route in February 2010. With the new route, Air France will soon offer 24 weekly air services from its two hubs in Paris and Amsterdam Schiphol to South Africa.

The new route launch is part of Air France and KLM’s expansion policy in Africa, with four new destinations debuting in 2011: Freetown (Sierra Leone), Monrovia (Liberia), Bata (Equatorial Guinea) and Cape Town. By the end of 2011, Air France will serve a total of 38 cities in Africa.
