Air India to Fly JFK-Delhi Nonstops, Join Star Alliance

Air India will launch daily nonstop service to Delhi from New York JFK on February 8. Utilizing 777-200LR aircraft, the flight will depart JFK at 4 p.m. and arrive in Delhi at 4:30 the next afternoon. Return flights will depart Delhi at 12:30 a.m. and arrive in New York at 5:45 a.m. the same day.

The new service will be Air India's second nonstop route to India from JFK; last August, its introduced a daily nonstop to Mumbai, also aboard Boeing 777-200LR. The Delhi service will increase Air India's frequency to 28 flights a week from New York, the most of any carrier.

The airline also announced that it has been invited to join the Star Alliance, which would give Air India access to more than 16,000 daily flights operated by the 17 Star Alliance members. Visit www.airindia.in. (MR)
