On the heels of its merger with Southwest Airlines, AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. has announced new nonstop service within Florida from Tampa to Key West, as well as additional flights to Phoenix, Orlando and San Juan in Puerto Rico beginning this winter.
These new flights are in addition to the low-cost carrier's extensive flight options to cities in the United States and the Caribbean. AirTran is adding new Key West service from Tampa in addition to the recently announced nonstop service to San Juan.
Beginning March 20, 2011, daily flights depart Tampa at 12:14 p.m. and arrive in Key West at 1:19 p.m. Return service leaves Key West at 12:49 p.m. and lands in Tampa at 2:04 p.m.
Airtran is also adding three additional daily, nonstop routes between Phoenix and Milwaukee. Beginning December 13, flights will leave Milwaukee at 8:55 a.m., 7:50 p.m. and 7:55 p.m., and will arrive in Phoenix at 11:55 a.m., 10:50 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. respectively. Return service departs Phoenix at 8:45 a.m., 1:55 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., landing in Milwaukee at 1 p.m., 6:10 p.m. and 5:19 a.m., respectively.
Milwaukee will also receive new daily, nonstop routes to Tampa, beginning March 8, 2011. Flights will depart Milwaukee at 7:40 a.m. and 1:54 p.m., arriving in Tampa at 11:31 a.m. and 5:35 p.m., respectively. Return service leaves Tampa at 11:40 a.m. and 6:15 p.m., landing in Milwaukee at 2 p.m. and 8:04 p.m., respectively.
Airtrans increased service to Orlando comes out of Akron/Canton in Ohio, beginning December 21. Flights leave Ohio at 1:21 p.m. and 5:53 p.m., arriving in Orlando at 3:46 p.m. and 8:19 p.m., respectively. Return service departs Florida at 2:01 p.m. and 4:44 p.m., landing in Akron/Canton at 4:19 p.m. and 7:02 p.m., respectively.
Finally, Airtran will launch daily direct flights from Baltimore/Washington to San Juan, beginning April 5, 2011. Flights will depart Baltimore/Washington at 11:11 a.m. and 7:55 p.m. with arrivals in Puerto Rico at 3:22 p.m. and 11:44 p.m., respectively. Return service leaves San Juan at 7 a.m. and 4:22 p.m., landing in the U.S. at 11:10 a.m. and 8:40 p.m, respectively.
