Scott Alvis, a veteran travel and technology executive, has joined Amadeus as senior vice president, client management, for its airline IT and distribution business group serving the Americas region. In his new role, Alvis will focus on fostering and managing IT and distribution business relationships with major airlines in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Overseeing a team of client account managers, he is responsible for the total client relationship and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction with Amadeus distribution and technology services.

An industry veteran with 20 years of diverse experience in travel and technology, Alvis brings expertise in the area of finance, marketing, sales, strategy and general management. He reports directly to Dwayne Ingram, executive vice president, Airline IT and Distribution, Americas, and is based out of Amadeus’ Chicago office.

“As we continue to grow our focus on the Americas region, we looked for a leader to bring us broad experience, a great reputation and skills that complement the leadership team we are putting in place here,” said Ingram.

Most recently, Alvis ran his own travel distribution and marketing consultancy where he advised executives on strategy, marketing and technology planning. Previously, Alvis held several senior positions at Sabre Holdings, including president and general manager of SynXis, a technology provider to the hospitality industry. He also served as senior vice president, enterprise marketing, where he led Sabre's corporate strategic planning, pricing, market research, usability lab, and innovation disciplines.
