Amadeus has announced that it reached an agreement with Europcar to offer direct links for Europcar's car rental product. The agreement, officials of both companies said, provides improved efficiency for those who are self-booking a trip through Amadeus e-Travel management. Using the new functionality, which is called "e-Direct Connect for Cars," includes a shopping basket that also includes flight, hotel and rail services; connectivity to inventory and rates; and access to airport and non-airport car office locations. Amadeus said travel management companies will be able to offer the new features to corporate customers, and will be able to view bookings made by customers using the direct link. Europcar is represented in 143 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia/Pacific, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean.
