American Airlines Moves Asia-Pacific Regional Office

American Airlines will move its Asia-Pacific Regional Office to the Japan Airlines' headquarters in Tokyo's Shinagawa district as of January 2011.

Earlier this year, American and JAL filed a request with the U.S. and Japanese governments to acquire antitrust immunity that will allow a Pacific joint business designed to benefit passengers, shippers, shareholders and employees. Both airlines are awaiting decisions.

American was given permission to fly from New York's JFK to Tokyo International Airport at Haneda on May 7, 2010 and will begin this new service on January 20.
