American Airlines recently announced nonstop service between Russia’s Domodedovo Airport in Moscow and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, beginning June 2, 2008.
This service not only marks the airline’s first flight to Russia, it also makes American the first U.S. airline to fly nonstop to Russia from Chicago and the second U.S. airline to fly nonstop to Moscow from anywhere in the U.S., according to the airline.
American will operate the service six days a week, using Boeing 767-300 aircraft, with eastbound flights taking a break on Sundays and westbound flights not operating on Mondays. Flights depart O’Hare at 4:55 p.m., arriving in Moscow at 12:15 p.m. the next day. Return flights depart at 4:50 p.m. and arrive 2:40 p.m. the same day.
