Delta Air Lines and the Air France-KLM Group have announced the expansion of their Florida service to Europe, connecting Miami and Orlando with London, Paris and Amsterdam. Daily nonstop service between Miami and London's Heathrow Airport will begin on March 26, while the following day, onMarch 27, KLM's nonstop flights between Miami and its Amsterdam hub will fly four times a week, and on June 11, Air France will launch its nonstop service between Orlando and its hub in Paris three times a week.
Between Miami and London, Delta will operate daily aboard a Boeing 767-300 aircraft. Starting March 26, service will depart Miami at 6:30 a.m. to arrive at 8:30 a.m. the next day. On March 27, return service will depart daily Heathrow at 9:40 a.m. to arrive in Miami at 3:05 p.m.
Aboard an MD-11, beginning March 27, KLM's service between Miami and Amsterdam will operate four times a week each way. Flights from Miami will depart at 9:30 p.m. to arrive in Amsterdam at 12:20 p.m. the next day," with flights available Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Return service beginning March 27 will also run Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, departing Amsterdam at 3:10 p.m. to arrive in Miami at 7:10 p.m.
Between Orlando and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Air France will operate service aboard a Boeing 777-300ER, beginning June 11. Departing Orlando at 8:45 p.m., service will arrive in Paris at 11:10 a.m. the next day, operating Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. From Paris, the airline will depart at 1:45 p.m. to arrive in Orlando at 5:05 p.m., with flights available also Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, beginning June 11.
The new service will operate under the airline's trans-Atlantic joint venture, an agreement which also includes Alitalia. Allowing its partners to coordinate flights and share costs and revenues of the service, the agreements provides customers more choices for booking, destinations and schedules, additional opportunities to earn and redeem miles, and consistent service regardless of which airline operates the flight.
Complementing its new service between Florida and London, Delta will also begin nonstop service between Miami and Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa. Operated by Delta Connection carrier Comair, it will provide connecting service for Florida customers going on to London-Heathrow.
