Delta Names Nicolas Ferri VP for Latin America, Caribbean

Santo Domingo residences, Managua, NicaraguaDelta Air Lines has selected Nicolas Ferri for the newly created position of vice president — Latin America and the Caribbean. Based in Atlanta, he will run all of the airline's commercial activities in the two regions, reporting to Delta President Ed Bastian when he assumes the role January 1, 2011.

In his new position, Ferri will manage long-term growth opportunities with SkyTeam partner Aeromexico, future codeshare partner GOL from Brazil, and the joint venture agreement with Air France KLM in Mexico. Ferri comes to Delta following his role at oneworld airline alliance, where he served as vice president of sales and marketing activities for commercial operations.

Following his work as a customer service agent for Pan Am at the beginning of his career in 1990, he joined United Airlines in 1992 as a sales manager. Over the next 10 years, he developed his work throughout the United States, Uruguay, Italy, Costa Rica, Taiwan, India, Philippines and Hong Kong. Educated in Uruguay, Ferri received his bachelor's degree in law and social sciences and is fluent in English, German, Spanish and Italian.
