Eagle County Airport Expands Flights on Delta to Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts

DeltaEagle County Regional Airport's (EGE) schedule for 2013-2014 winter season will include expanded non-stop flights from Minneapolis on Delta for nearly two week in December, including Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 26 through Jan. 5, in addition to Saturday service which operates Feb. 15 through March 26. There will also be an additional Saturday non-stop flight from Atlanta on Delta added to the schedule in peak season Feb. 15 through March 29.

“Air access is tremendously important to our resort communities of Vail and Beaver Creek,” said Jim Kellen, director of sales and marketing for Beaver Creek. “The way the airlines are carefully looking at and fine-tuning schedules to provide more capacity at peak times is a testament to the strength of our airline partnerships and the growth of the market.”

Additionally, American Airlines will also introduce the Airbus 319. The new aircraft will offer First-Class and Main Cabin seating, as well as Main Cabin Extra seating which will feature four to six more inches of legroom for passengers. Airbus 319 will also offer personal entertainment including movies, TV programs, music, games and Wi-Fi.

“The Airbus A319 is an extremely capable, modern aircraft that we believe will be the perfect fit for American Airlines and for our passengers flying from Los Angeles and Dallas/Ft. Worth to Eagle,” said Greg Phillips, aviation director at Eagle County Regional Airport.

EGE is serviced by three major airlines – American, Delta and United airlines – offering non-stop flights to and from 10 major markets including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Newark and New York/Kennedy. The majority of winter service begins Dec. 19, 2013 and continues through March 31, 2014.
