Hertz reports that it has made its first Chevy Volt rental in its fleet from its East 64th Street location in New York City. Hertz said it plans to make additional vehicles available in other locations over the next few months. The Volt joins other electric drive options currently available to the general public through the Connect by Hertz car sharing operation.
Hertz is encouraging local residents to visit www.hertzev.com to sign up to be among the first to try an EV. Hertz expects to add hundreds of EVs to their fleet over the coming months, making vehicles available at locations in Manhattan, Washington DC and San Francisco.
