On the heels of JetBlue's addition of twice-daily service between Tampa and San Juan, Puerto Rico, the airline announced it will operate nonstop service daily between San Juan and Jacksonville, Florida, beginning May 19, 2011. Other service additions include over 30 flights per day to and from Puerto Rico, including more than 20 departures per day from San Juan. Also, the airline will add a second daily flight from Jacksonville to Boston in May 2011.
The only nonstop service between the Caribbean and Jacksonville will operate with the airline's EMBRAER 190, featuring all-leather seating for 100 customers. The flight from Jacksonville (JAX) will depart at 10:30 a.m. to arrive at San Juan's Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) at 1:26 p.m. At 2:10 p.m. the flight from San Juan will arrive in Jacksonville at 5:36 p.m. Tickets for the new Jacksonville - San Juan route will go on sale on the airline's site later this month.
