Kingfisher Airlines to Join oneworld

India's Kingfisher Airlines is slated to join the ranks of the oneworld alliance as of February 10. According to Breaking Travel News, this will be the first carrier from the subcontinent to join any of the global airline groups.

"Kingfisher Airlines received its green light to board oneworld after successfully completing a thorough review of its readiness conducted by British Airways, which is sponsoring its entry into the alliance, with the oneworld central team," according to the article.

The addition of Kingfisher will extend oneworld's coverage to almost 800 destinations in about 150 countries.
