New Code Share Agreement Between Emirates, V Australia Announced

Beginning October 25, Dubai-based international airline, Emirates, and Virgin Blue Group’s new international airline, V Australia, will begin their first code share partnership.

Under the agreement guests traveling in V Australia’s International Business cabin will be able to transfer to comparable accommodations in Emirates’ Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 for luxury accommodations.  This includes ergonomically designed seats, wines, and “mood-lighting.”  The new code share flights will be identified with the Emirates “EK” code while V Australia’s code shares will be identified by a “VA” code.

In order to coordinate its flight schedule with Emirates, V Australia has retimed its schedule to ensure connecting times with its code-sharing partner.

Under the revised schedule, guests traveling from Auckland to Sydney and on to Los Angeles in flight EK 413 will depart Auckland at 6:45 p.m. and arrive in Sydney at 8:05 p.m. before departing again to L.A. on V Australia flight VA 1 at 9:05 p.m.

Travelers going from Christchurch to Sydney and on to Los Angeles on flight EK 419 will depart at 5:00 p.m. and arrive in Sydney at 6:20 p.m., connecting to VA 1 at 9:05 p.m. For the return flight, guests will arrive at 6:05 a.m. in Sydney on VA 1 from Los Angeles and connect to flight EK 412 at 8:50 a.m. to Auckland or EK 418 at 10:15 to Christchurch.
