New Routes Could Ease LAX Traffic

Carriers Delta and United both are aiming to add Palmdale, CA to their flight schedules, a move that many hope would reduce air traffic at Los Angeles International Airport. Regional planners expect the addition of a Palmdale route by either carrier will reduce congestion at LAX, as Palmdale, which recently changed its name to LA/Palmdale Regional Airport, is approximately an hour from LAX. A committee will evaluate the two proposals next week and should make a decision on which carrier wins the bid by February, the Daily Comet, a Louisiana-based newspaper, reports.
