Caneel Bay Finishing Renovations

Caneel Bay, a Rosewood resort on St. John, U.S.Virgin Islands, is finishing guest room and public area renovations between August and November this year.

The 170-acre resort launched a $3.6 million renovation last summer, rede-signing rooms in a 1950s beach house style (the resort was opened in 1956).

Enhancements include new furnishings, artwork, draperies and bedding, featuring handcrafted furniture and fabrics in greens and blues inspired by its location.

Laurance Rockefeller's Cottage #7, a long-time guest favorite and historic landmark, has also been restored, incorporating a motif that is more colonial Caribbean in style. Bathrooms in several Ocean View and Turtle Bay Beachfront guest rooms are also being updated.

A total of 30 rooms will have been made connecting by the time the second phase of the renovation is completed this fall.
