Saint Lucia Celebrates Launch of JetBlue Mint Service from Boston

Saint Lucia’s prime minister Allen Chastanet and the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority’s acting CEO Tiffany Howard welcomed the first JetBlue Mint flight to the island this past weekend. Passengers were greeted by masqueraders and a pannist on the tarmac followed by a reception in Hewanorra International Airport’s VIP lounge.

Flying in from Boston Logan International Airport, the flight marks the first time JetBlue has added its Mint service to the route. The luxury service provides passengers with fully lie-flat seats, cushions with adjustable firmness and a massage feature, a comforter and pillow, ergonomic touches, individualized seatback TVs and unlimited snacks.

“The introduction of the JetBlue Mint service from Boston shows continued growth in our luxury sector out of Northeast United States,” said Howard.

Other guests expected to attend included Kelly Fontenelle-Clarke, SLTA’s director of marketing for the United States; Marcelline Palton, the general manager for JetBlue Airways; and Wendy Jurngerkes, the regional manager for LATAM/Caribbean – product, JetBlue and JetBlue Vacations.

Saint Lucia is one of the Windward Islands of the West Indies’ Lesser Antilles in the eastern Caribbean. The island features the UNESCO-recognized, a tropical rainforest and a drive-in volcano, one of just a few worldwide. Other highlights of the island its capital Castries, the quaint fishing villages along the coast and the annual Soleil Saint Lucia Summer Festival.
