United.com, Continental.com Allow Penalty-free Rescheduling

Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, Ohio, taken by DaderotIn preparation for the weekend, United Continental Holdings, Inc. has released the option of one-time date or time rescheduling for United and Continental customers whose flight plans may be affected by severe winter weather forecast for the Northeast. Change fees will be waived with delays or cancellations expected of certain flights, due to weather conditions February 24 through February 26, for travel at Continental's hubs at Newark Liberty International Airport and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Other cities throughout the region may also be affected.

The fastest and most convenient way to travel plans, the holding company said, is online, via united.com or continental.com. Managing reservations should be done on the respective company's website from which the ticket was purchased. Travelers may also make a new reservation, change an existing reservation or check flight status by calling United Reservations at 800-UNITED-1 or Continental Reservations at 800-525-0280. In addition, customers may receive information about flight delays, cancellations and gate changes with United's EasyUpdate service or Continental's TripAlert service, which sends notifications via phone, text or e-mail. In the event of a canceled flight, a refund in the original form of payment may be requested.
