Amadeus is implementing a new distribution, e-ticketing and interlining solution for the short-haul Australian carrier Virgin Blue, while its long-haul affiliate, V Australia, will use Amadeus' customer management tools for reservations and online booking. As a result, Virgin Blue will experience a wider distribution through Amadeus' global distribution system and V Australia will use Amadeus' tools to drive online sales and deliver a "compelling online experience," the technology company said.
