Winter Storm Nemo - Airlines Offer Options

snowDelta Air Lines, United and American are  offering customers whose flight plans may be affected by winter weather expected Friday across the U.S. Northeast, the ability to make one-time changes to their travel schedules without fees. All three carriers said flight delays and cancellations are possible.

Delta, said it is closely monitoring conditions along the storm's forecast path and encourages customers to consider moving up, postponing or re-routing their travel to avoid possible inconvenience from expected flight delays.

Customers booked on Delta-ticketed flights to, from or through the following cities between Feb. 8 and 9 may immediately rebook for travel before or after their original travel dates as long as new flights are ticketed and rescheduled with travel beginning by Feb. 12, 2013.

Flight delays are expected at the these airports as a result of the winter storm and Delta said it may proactively reduce flight schedules to minimize delays. Customers can visit delta.com or use the Fly Delta mobile app to make changes and manage their travel itinerary.

American Airlines said it is offering customers flexibility to change their travel plans due to Winter Storm Nemo. Customers ticketed on American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection flights Feb. 8-9 to, from, or through the cities listed  may change flights without penalty, have the ticket-reissue charge waived for one ticket change, and begin travel Feb. 7-12 under American's current travel waiver.

AA said to change travel dates, customers should contact American Airlines Reservations at 1-800-433-7300 in the U.S. or Canada. Customers calling from outside the U.S. or Canada should check American's Worldwide Reservations Numbers page on AA.com.

United Airlines also  announced travel options for customers whose flight plans may be disrupted by winter weather impacting the Northeast region. Weather conditions will lead to the delay or cancellation of certain flights into and out of several Northeastern airports, including United’s hub at Newark and others, United said, including:
