BA Strike Update: Virgin Trains May Increase Service

In the wake of the shocking British Airways strike news, Virgin Trains released the following statement:

Virgin Trains is urgently examining the possibility of extra services between London and Glasgow following this afternoon's announcement by British Airways cabin crew for possible strike action over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Further details will be announced as soon as timings of any additional trains have been confirmed.

A Virgin Trains spokesperson said today: "It is really important that families wanting to travel between London and Glasgow for the holiday period do not have their festive plans ruined by strike action. It is a very busy time of year but Virgin Trains will do everything possible to help."

Services run every 20 minutes on the London to Manchester route so there will be ample capacity to convey the small number of British Airways passengers who continue to fly between Manchester and London.
