Mokulele Airlines is set to launch the first flight from its newest airport location, Waimea-Kohala Airport on the Big Island, September 21 following a traditional Hawaiian blessing.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for September 21 and will begin with a traditional Hawaiian blessing followed by the inaugural flight of the new route which will depart at 7:00 am for Kahului Airport (OGG) on Maui.

September 21 also marks the day that the low-cost inter-island carrier will begin daily service between Waimea-Kohala Airport and Kahului Airport with connections available to Honolulu International Airport (HNL). It is a day of celebration on the Big Island, as the grand opening coincides with Waimea's Paniolo Parade and Ho'olaule'a which is part of the month-long Hawai'i Island Festival.
