The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Announces December 15 Opening

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, a new 2,995-room casino-resort opening in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, will welcome its first guests December 15. Reservation lines are now open. Travel Agent followed up on the announcement today with representatives of the property, who told us told us that booking through GDS earns agents 10 percent commission and that any travel professionals who wish to tour the property can submit a written request and scheduling time with Erin Naeve, director of leisure services ([email protected]).

We also learned the dimensions of the various studios, rooms, and suites. The biggest gem is the Wraparound Terrace Suite, at 1,200 square feet with a 480 -square-foot wraparound terrace that provides panoramic views of the city. The second largest is the Terrace Suite, with 910 square feet of place and a 160-square-foot terrace). Other rooms are as folows:

Sitting directly between CityCenter and the Bellagio, the 2,995-room property will feature two 50-story towers across 8.7 acres of land. Resort features include 100,000 square feet of casino space; 60,000 square feet of shopping; 43,000 square feet of spa, healthclub and salon offerings; three pool experiences and multi-level integrated nightclubs. The spaces were designed by a team of interior architects including David Rockwell, Jeffrey Beers, Adam D. Tihany and the Friedmutter Group.

Dining options feature top chefs from the United States, all new to Las Vegas, including Jaleo and China Poblano restaurants by Chef Jose Andres; Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill by restaurateurs Bruce and Eric Bromberg; Comme Ca by Los Angeles chef David Myers; New York City's Estiatorio Milos by restaurateur Costas Spiliadis; Scarpetta and D.O.C.G. by award-winning chef Scott Conant; and popular steakhouse STK from The One Group.
