Victoria Cruises Aids Humanitarian Effort Following China Quake

Victoria Cruises, a cruise company sailing China’s Yangtze River, is assisting humanitarian relief efforts following the earthquake in Wenchaun, China by donating excess inventory and supplies, including much-needed clothing, towels and drinking water.

“We encourage others to get involved by donating to the American Red Cross International Response Fund and help the victims during their time of need,” said Jerry Pi, operating partner for Victoria Cruises.

Victoria Cruises is based in New York and has been offering Yangtze River sailings since 1994.

“Victoria Cruises is operating normally and on schedule,” said Larry Greenman, manager of public relations and customer service for the cruise line. “While the earthquake was felt on land, and there was some sway felt along the river, our passengers are safe and the river is now calm. There has been no damage to our fleet.”
