Good news out of the U.S.V.I.: Arrivals are up. As of October 2010 air arrivals to the territory have passed 865,000, representing a 7.4 percent year-over-year increase, according to the Department of Tourism. This equals about 60,000 more passengers than during the same period in 2009.
In order to keep numbers up, the Department of Tourism is constantly collaborating with airline partners to maintain and increase airlift to the region. For the coming months, service increases will up capacity to about 23,000 per week.
