As 2014 draws to a close, cruise lines are still busy adding new product for next year. This week in cruise news saw the announcement of a new destination by Carnival Cruise Lines and new theme cruises from MSC Cruises and AmaWaterways.
On October 6, 2015, the Carnival Victory will sail to Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic for a day-long call as the line’s first ship to sail to the destination.
The port offers visitors numerous activities and opportunities to explore, which include relaxing on the beach, participating in water sports (such as cross-country adventures in 4x4 Terracross buggies, horseback riding on the beach, snorkeling, and swimming in natural river pools), traveling to Paradise Island, spending the day at Ocean World (the area’s largest marine adventure park), visiting rural coffee plantations, sampling traditional Dominican cuisine, and shopping downtown for locally sourced crafts and souvenirs.
Also in 2015, MSC Divina is offering travelers a series of themed cruises departing from Miami for the Caribbean in the winter and spring.
2015 theme cruises onboard the MSC Divina include a post-New Year extravaganza, a Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras celebration, a "Songs of the 60s" cruise and a "Baseball Greats" cruise.
Also this week, AmaWaterways announced three new themed cruises of its own for next year. Customers can choose from “Beer,” “Art Illumination,” or “Jazz” river cruises aboard one of the following ships: the AmaLyra, AmaPrima, or AmaLegro.
