This Week in Cruise: Wave Season Keeps Rolling

msc divinaThis week in cruise news the Wave Season deals kept on coming, with free cruise giveaways, perks for travel agents and special discounts for clients.

Carnival Cruise Line will be celebrating Wave Season by offering travel agents the chance to win a free cruise. From January 5 to February 28, 2015 agents can enter the “Mike’s Mic” giveaway for a chance to win a free cruise (airfare included) for two aboard the Carnival Vista.

To qualify, participants must listen to “Mike’s Mike,” a ten-minute podcast that can be found on “Carnival Passport,” the line’s travel agent Internet portal. Listeners receive one automatic entry per podcast. Winners will be announced on or around March 13, 2015.

Un-Cruise Adventures released a list of adventure voyages where guests who book before March 27, 2015, may receive savings of up to $400 per couple.

Available destinations include Hawaiian Islands, Mexico’s Sea of Cortés, Columbia & Snake Rivers, Coastal Washington/British Columbia and Alaska

American Express Travel has launched its 2015 Cruise Sale to coincide with Wave Season. Through February 28, the company will offer savings, upgrades and complimentary amenities for 19 participating cruise suppliers, including Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean and more.

American Express Card Members who book the Cruise Sale can take advantage of the Pay with Points program, which allows card members to earn, and pay for all or any portion of a trip with Membership Rewards. They will also earn one extra Membership Rewards point on each dollar they spend per booking. 

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMVCB) is launching Miami Cruise Month, a set of offers to reserve cruises departing PortMiami

The city is also offering special deals on pre- and post-cruise hotel stays, attraction visits, and Heritage Neighborhood Tours. Miami Cruise Month, which is sponsored by MasterCard's Priceless Miami program, will run through January 31. 

Meanwhile, MSC Cruises is offering two deals for Wave Season: an extended commission offer and a fleetwide deal for clients. 

For Wave Season the line is extending its offer of 18 percent flat commission for all 2015/2016 Caribbean Group Bookings on MSC Divina to Jan. 31, 2015.

Additionally, MSC Cruises is offering perks including up to $200 in shipboard credits, beverage packages and reduced deposits to its Inclusive Experiences categories.

Shipboard credits can be used for items such as specialty restaurants, spa treatments or shops onboard. Additionally, children 11 and under sail free on all applicable Wave Season bookings. 

Value-added benefits are based on the “Inclusive Experience” category and stateroom selected.
