Air Europa Orders 16 Jets

Spanish carrier Air Europa has converted options to buy into firm orders for 16 Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 airplanes. The airplanes are valued at approximately $1 billion at list prices and will be delivered between 2010 and 2014. Air Europa will use these new airplanes on domestic routes within Spain, including the Balearic and Canary islands, as well as on European and North African routes. Air Europa currently has 30 Boeing Next-Generation 737s in its fleet and 34 on order; that aircraft is particularly efficient on short and medium-distance routes.
