June 28, 2006 By: Camie Foster Travel Agent

China Southern Airlines on June 28 signed an agreement that marks another step in its goal of joining the 10-member SkyTeam alliance. The carrier says it expects to wrap up integration of its IT and frequent-flyer programs and receive SkyTeam membership in the latter part of 2007. The carrier started the process with the signing of an initial agreement in August 2004. Current SkyTeam members include Air France, Alitalia, Continental, Delta, KLM, Korean Air and Northwest.
