Continental Nixes Net Fares

Continental Airlines has informed the air consolidation industry that it plans to do away with net fares for 2007, according to air consolidators. The carrier has said that it will only offer commissionable products for the coming year. No other airlines have yet followed suit, according to industry insiders. "I don't think (others will follow)," says Ron Heuer, general manager of DFW Tours, an air consolidator in Dallas. "I think this airline may even retract what they are doing. Someone may try to follow suit, but I don't know."
