Eithad Increases European Flights

January 10, 2011 By: Jena Tesse Fox

Etihad Airways is increasing frequencies from its Abu Dhabi base to five key European destinations this year.

Manchester will expand from a daily service to 10 flights per week; Paris from 10 flights per week to double-daily; Brussels from six to eight flights per week; and both Geneva and Milan from five flights per week to daily.

Etihad will also increase capacity on a number of other routes as it takes delivery of five new wide-bodied aircraft – three Airbus A330-300s and two Boeing 777-300ERs – this summer.

This includes moving from five-times-weekly to daily on its Beijing route; from four flights a week to daily on Bangalore; and introducing a 412-passenger B777-300ER aircraft to Chicago.

The changes, which are scheduled to take place between June and August, mean that by October, 74 percent of Etihad’s 66 destinations will be served by at least daily flights.
