Effective Oct. 22, El Al Israel Airlines will double the number of direct flights between Chicago and Israel to four per week. Flights will operate on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday on Boeing 767 aircraft. Departures from Chicago are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.; Thursday flights will depart at 3 p.m. Passengers flying the 767 aircraft will also have the opportunity to use IRIDIUM satellite telephones to make calls in flight for $1.60 per minute.
