First Green Airport Scheduled to Open

The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, the first completely green airport and industrial business park, is scheduled to open in May 2010.
The development plan includes use of sustainable construction materials, a landscaping plan that will not require supplemental irrigation, and a terminal building that is designed to be the first LEED certified airport terminal. So far both Southwest Airlines and Delta Airlines have signed on for passenger service.
