Kingfisher Airlines has been in some hot water for the past couple of months. Most recently the Indian carrier has been suspended from the International Air Transport Association, after having failed to make payments that were due, according to Breaking Travel News.
The suspension means that Kingfisher will not be able to code-share with the organization's 240 member airlines. It will also not be able to use either interline rights.
"Due to the accounts getting attached by the tax authorities, we were not able to make a payment to ICH which resulted in a temporary suspension," said Prakash Mirpuri, vice president - corporate communications, Kingfisher Airlines in a statement. "We are working with the tax authorities and expect the accounts to be un-attached shortly. As soon as this is done, we will pay our dues to IATA and get reinstated."
