Korean Air Orders 25 Jets in $5.5 Billion Deal

Korean Air has taken another step in its mission to be among the top 10 passenger carriers in the world by 2010 with a $5.5 billion order of aircraft. The carrier has finalized a purchase agreement for 25 Boeing aircraft. The agreement covers 10 777-300Ers to replace the 747-400 passenger aircraft that the airline is converting to freighters, as well as five 737-900/700s to provide for additional capability for passenger routes to neighboring countries. The agreement also includes 10 freighters and provides for options for eight additional aircraft—four 777-300Ers, two 737-900Ers and two additional freighters. Delivery of the 25 aircraft is scheduled for 2009 to 2019. Visit [].
