NW to Accelarate DC-10 Retirements

June 28, 2006 By: Susan Young Travel Agent

Northwest Airlines will accelerate the retirement of the remaining 12 DC10-30 aircraft it flies. During the next seven months, it will replace those older aircraft with new Airbus A330s and Boeing 747-400 aircraft that are being returned to service. Currently, seven routes are served with the DC10. While most of Northwest's transAtlantic flights already offer A330 service, by the end of October, Northwest's Memphis, TN to Amsterdam service, Minneapolis-St. Paul to London flights, and Amsterdam to Mumbai service will become served solely by A330s.
