NW Pilots Voting on Tentative Deal

Air Line Pilots Association members at Northwest Airlines are voting on a tentative deal that would save the airline $358 million annually and give the pilots an $888 million claim that would be paid to them in stock upon the airline's emergence from bankruptcy. Northwest filed for Chapter 11 protection in September 2005. Northwest has said that, if ratified, the new contract with the pilots would put the airline closer to its goal of $1.4 billion overall in labor savings.
