SAS to Launch Copenhagen-Shanghai Service in 2012

June 10, 2011 By: Jena Tesse Fox

Scandinavian Airlines will launch new Copenhagen-Shanghai service on March 1, 2012, five days per week from all over Scandinavia and the rest of Europe (destinations will include London, Munich, Paris, Berlin, Warsaw, Vienna and the Baltic capitals) to Shanghai. From Shanghai, Air China and Shanghai Airlines (both SAS partners) will continue on in Southern China, and across Asia.

The Copenhagen-Shanghai route will be served by an Airbus A340-300, the largest aircraft in the SAS fleet, offering 245 seats in a three service class set up of Business, Economy Extra and Economy. The A340 used on this route will be SAS’ 11th long-haul aircraft and will enter the SAS fleet after having been leased to another airline for the past two years.

Departures from Copenhagen on SK997 will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 6:25 p.m., arriving the following day in Shanghai at 11:35. Departures from Shanghai on SK998 will be at 1:25 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
