American Airlines said Tuesday that it has received "strong support" for its application to the U.S. Department of Transportation to operate daily nonstop service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Beijing, China, starting March 25, 2007. American says its proposal has the support of 96 members of Congress and more than 100 mayors and other elected officials. To date, more than 82,000 people have submitted letters on behalf of American's application.
