United Reaches Tentative Deal with AFA

UAL Corporation, the holding company whose prime subsidiary is United Airlines, said it reached an agreement in principle with the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) regarding the terms of a replacement retirement plan for its members. The agreement is subject to ratification by AFA members; terms were not made public. United said that if the agreement is ratified, United will have resolved pension and retirement issues with all its employee groups. That should help the carrier as it prepares to emerge from bankruptcy protection.
