Virgin Joins Laptop Battery-Usage Ban

BBC News is reporting that passengers on Virgin Atlantic international flights who are traveling with Dell and Apple laptops are being asked to remove the units' batteries before takeoff. Batteries are to be wrapped and placed in carry-on baggage, and travelers are limited to two batteries per person. This leaves users of the affected computers only able to run them if they are in a seat with a power port. According to BBC News, Virgin Atlantic is the third carrier to impose restrictions on those with Dell and Apple laptops, following Qantas and Korean Air, after a series of laptops exploded in-flight.
