Although it is not set to be officially announced until June 26 at a press event in New York, Oasis Hotels & Resorts shared with Travel Agent news that it has invested $90 million into seven properties in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, Mexico, and will also open three new resorts in 2007.

According to a written statement from Enrique Klein, vice
president of Sales & Marketing for TravAmerica, which represents the Oasis
and Grand Oasis properties, "Following the devastation of Hurricane Wilma

Klein noted that the $90 million investment was used to upgrade facilities at each of the Oasis and Grand Oasis properties, including adding or renovating restaurants, bars, lobbies, and guest rooms in addition to swimming pools, landscaping, and beach preservation.
The product enhancement program was also used to make an investment into the resort's food and beverage operations, with an emphasis on show cooking and creating oceanfront restaurants and bars, as well as upgraded entertainment. Other additions included golf (nine-hole executive pitch-and-putt courses), tennis and water sports.
