Breezes Resorts’ Re-Branding Results in Increased Bookings

March 15, 2010 By: Joe Pike

Breezes Resorts & Spas  is reporting that its November 1 re-branding initiative has successfully increased bookings at its expanded portfolio of hotels, which now includes eight properties in six countries— Jamaica, Curaçao, The Bahamas, Panama and Brazil.

Breezes Rio Bueno (formerly Grand Lido Braco), located on Jamaica’s west coast, saw a nine-percent increase in February occupancy rates compared to last year, while March is already up 25 percent in bookings over 2009.

Breezes Panama, which opened on October 1 in Santa Clara, got off to a solid start, with a near sell out during its introductory weekend and 100 percent occupancy during Christmas week and over Valentine’s Day weekend.

The all-suite Breezes Grand Negril, a perennial favorite, has seen an influx of younger couples given the resort’s new pricing structure due to the re-branding.

Also expanding its customer base is Breezes Trelawny, which, as Starfish, had primarily attracted a family crowd. The hotel, which is now “Super-Inclusive,” has struck a chord with couples seeking an active getaway.

Slated to open this summer, the brand’s latest development, Breezes Buzios will be the second Breezes in Brazil, bumping Breezes’ offerings to nine resorts.
