ARC and Travel Leaders Plan for GBTA Conference

July 18, 2012 By: Newswire Travel Agent

ARC reports it will display a cross section of the company’s products and solutions July 23-25 at the GBTA 2012 Convention in Boston, the Global Business Travel Association’s premier industry event. The GBTA expects a record attendance during the Boston conference.

ARC's solutions, which will be shown in ARC’s “We Power Travel” themed exhibit booth (#2727), provide airlines, travel management companies, and corporate travel departments with the ability to employ ARC’s deep data repository of air ticket transactions to make fact-based business decisions, ARC says.

ARC will also be hosting a “Nightlights” after-dinner reception for attendees on Tuesday, July 24, from 9 p.m. until midnight.

ARC’s exhibit booth will feature interactive iPad displays about all the ways ARC powers travel for corporate buyers and suppliers. Visitors will also learn how ARC led the effort to help carriers and travel sellers process Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMD).

ARC notes it has been EMD-ready since November 2010, more than three years ahead of schedule. ARC has already processed EMDs for two airlines, is in the final testing with two others, and has successfully completed testing with Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport.

ARC also notes it made news recently when its board of directors approved an updated version of the company’s Agent Reporting Agreement (ARA), which impacts GBTA attendees. The revised ARA, which is the foundation of the U.S. travel industry’s agency accreditation and settlement system, was created through vigorous collaboration between travel agencies, airlines, and ARC.

ARC notes the new version will go into effect in July 2013, addressing the realities of today’s ever-changing travel industry and bringing a fresh approach to agency accreditation and transaction settlement.

In 2011, ARC reports it settled more than $82 billion worth of transactions between travel sellers and airlines. ARC also supplies transactional data to organizations, facilitating better business decisions through fact-based market analyses.

Another player in the market, Travel Leaders Corporate,  reports it is set to kick off this year’s GBTA convention with its third-annual “Chill Party.”  The party kicks off at 9:01 p.m. – just a minute after the convention’s opening session concludes on Sunday, July 22. The scene for this year’s party is the Royale Nightclub in downtown Boston. Travel Leaders Corporate is a division of Travel Leaders Group.

Sponsors for the 2012 Chill Party include: Amadeus, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hickory Global Partners, Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, National Car Rental and United Airlines.
