ASTA's ongoing program to promote professional travel agents will get another boost from ASTA again being featured in 2012 on the popular morning show, “The Balancing Act” on Lifetime Television, which runs weekdays at 7 a.m. ET/PT. The first two segments feature ASTA member Margie Jordan, who will provide viewers with insightful tips and helpful advice when planning their next vacation, ASTA reports.
“Through this tremendous partnership, ASTA is continuing with its pledge to promote the value of working with a professional travel agent to consumers across the country who tune in to ‘The Balancing Act’ each day,” said ASTA President and Chair Nina Meyer. "The tips and advice provided by ASTA’s own experts, viewers will be better educated on the benefits of using a travel agent to plan their next vacation, and the knowledge that ASTA agents are backed by a professional code of conduct.”
“We are looking forward to having ASTA join the upcoming series on ‘The Balancing Act.’ They will offer tips, advice and solutions to viewers about cruises and all-inclusive packages,” said Doug Campbell, founder and executive vice president of programming for The Balancing Act.
In the first segment, which aired today, Jordan discusses the many factors to be considered when considering a cruise or all-inclusive resort, and how agents can winnow down the myriad options to match their clients to the right product, ASTA reports.
Says Jordan: “A travel agent, especially a member of the American Society of Travel Agents, intimately knows the ship, and intimately knows the resort. We absolutely can match a cruise or all-inclusive to you. … We will narrow down the choices for you and help you decide which option is best for you and that fits your budget and your needs.”
The second segment, which will air March 10, focuses on cruising, with Jordan explaining the variations among cruise lines and the products they offer, noting that agents can help clients navigate the numerous options that exist and eliminate the many misconception about cruising.
