ASTA’s Russo to Promote Agents On TV

The first ASTA segment to appear on The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television, which airs weekdays at 7 a.m. ET, will run on Friday, June 10 during the “My Smart Shopper Series.” In the segment, ASTA’s President and Chair Chris Russo discusses the modern-day challenges that travelers face when attempting to book airfare and accommodations, and how a professional travel agent can help. The appearance is part of ASTA’s ongoing p [promotion of professional agents in consumer media.

“Appearing on “The Balancing Act” on Lifetime is a tremendous opportunity for us to showcase the value that comes with working with a professional travel agent when planning your next vacation,” said Chris Russo, ASTA president and chair. “Thanks to the program’s broad appeal, it’s the ideal way to let Americans know that working with a travel agent can not only save them money, but something even more precious in today’s fast-paced world—their time.”

ASTA partnered with “The Balancing Act” on Lifetime, to showcase various aspects of travel and the value of working with a professional travel agent to millions of viewers across the country.

“I always recommend turning to the experts to save time and money,” added Russo. “Travel agents are experts in understanding and deciphering the myriad travel information and codes. It's what they've been trained to do and they do it every day. Plus, travel agents are there for you before, during and after your trip. For instance, if your flight gets canceled or delayed, your travel agent is there to instantly help, whereas you could spend hours on hold with an airline solving the problem.”
